Soap Dispenser Hack

Do you ever find yourself getting tired of refilling the soap dispenser, on your kitchen sink, from the top? The dispenser reservoir just doesnt hold enough. And you spill the soap trying to pour it into the small pump opening. And you have no way of knowing how much you have left until it is empty. This trick is for you.

1. Remove the pump as if you were going to refill the dish soap. Take the pump to your local hardware store.

2. Locate some flexible tubing that will fit snuggly over the tube on your pump. It needs to fit snugly. You will need approx 3.5 feet of this tube.

3. Now remove the Reservoir (usually a plastic bottle) from the dispenser base from underneath. They normally just unscrew. It will usually still contain some soap.

4. Slide one end of the tubing you just purchased onto the end of the pump inlet tubing. Again, It should be very snug on the pump tube. Put the other end of the new tube through the base of the dispenser from the top.

5. I purchased a 1 gallon bottle of dish soap and placed it in the corner, under the dispenser. You could use a small bottle, but it would not set as stable as a 1 gallon bottle. Place the hose inside your bottle of dish soap under your sink.

Now you will be able to monitor as your soap gets low and will not have to fill it from the top.

PLEASE NOTE: Anything, like water or soap, going into the dispenser base from on top will go into the cabinet below. Be careful how you clean around the dispenser base.
